"Wow! I'm fixed! Having had to stop running from what I thought was a stomach muscle injury, I'd rested for 8 weeks hoping it would heal but frustratingly it hadn't.  Talking to Gavin he suggested the cause of the problem may actually be a weakness elsewhere and explained how MAT could help to not only identify the cause but also to make my muscles stronger. Not convinced, thinking I knew my body best but desperately wanting to run again, I went along for my first session.

 

The approach of MAT is so logical and makes so much sense (if you know what you are doing which Gavin clearly does) and he was absolutely right. All the resistance tests identified a weakness in my right hip and my stomach muscles had clearly been compensating for this. A series of targeted activation exercises instantly gave my muscles new strength which was incredible! Because Gavin does a 'before and after' comparison the difference is so obvious to both feel and see.

 

After just two sessions (the second to reinforce the technique and re-test each set of muscles just to make sure my newly acquired strength wasn't just a fluke!) I was back up and running! I couldn't believe just one session had not only identified the problem but had also fixed it.  I'm delighted to be running again so quickly but best of all MAT is such a logical approach which makes complete sense and Gavin clearly knows his stuff! "For the past 10 years I have suffered constant muscle pain in my back, neck and shoulders. I had been seeing a Chiropractor who made me pain free for one day at a time. I loved going to the gym but found that I couldn't do weights and I would suffer with the pain the next few days and the pain would get me down. "I had been suffering from a tight lower back ache, which was most painful in simple episodes of my day such as cleaning my teeth or laying flat on my back. After trying many different methods like stretching, resting, bathing-soaking-icing and substantial pain killers. Nothing seemed to change.I visited Gavin for a Muscle Activation session and explained my problem to which he performed a number of muscle tests in my upper and lower body to pinpoint exactly where the tightness was coming from.
